Pete is extremely convivial and serious about his business. This is one of the best pizzas you can get in the Denver area. The bread, crust is delicate, moist and firm and goes excellent under all of the wonderful red sauce and white sauce toppings he has to choose from. I was working in the area and found his restaurant, small and quaint. I had the choice between a taco stand and his pizza restaurant, and as I am a pizza aficionado, I chose to try his pizza. I have been all over the world and found his pizza excellent . If you go to Google maps to try and find a pizza restaurant, it will tell you that he closes at four and this is not true. Pete works feverishly until 9 o'clock every night to deliver quality pizza and ingredients. He has my utmost respect!
Saw them from chef Ramseys show and I had to check if they were still open (most of the restaurants aren't) from the show. I'm also Greek and my father was just like Pete. Work hard love hard loyal and generous but when it came to his ego he was always right. So glad to see Pete got it together! Makes me tear up . What a great outcome Bravo!
I went here when I was driving through to New York and it didn't let me down it was realy good and ngl there pizza is pretty good
Delicious Pie, friendly wait staff. Got a sausage pizza with mushrooms and was not disappointed. Would order again.
I just went here for the first time after seeing it in my neighborhood, and had a great experience. I placed an order for takeout, and the owner (Pete) was super nice on the phone. He said the pizza would be ready in 10 minutes but asked "or is that too soon for you to get here?" which I thought was very considerate. We chatted a bit in the store when I arrived, and he was just the nicest man. He told me a little bit about his experience with being on the Kitchen Nightmares show. He told me Gordon Ramsay asked for his pizza crust recipe, but "since you are a lady I cannot tell you the words I told him", which was amusing! I wish I pressed him more for what he actually said. The pizza was delicious, and honestly, it IS the best pizza crust I've ever had. It was all puffy and flaky, and, I know this sounds weird, but tasted like BREAD rather than just a carby vehicle for toppings. The sauce tasted very herby without being sweet, which I enjoyed. The sausage did taste a little store bought, but it wasn't bad. And it wasn't greasy at all. Another local pizza place I frequent is good but the slices just drip grease everywhere. Happy that I could eat this pizza one handed and without a bib! All in all, between the delicious crust, great flavor, and excellent customer service, I would love to return to Pantaleone's soon. Note: If the owner reads these reviews, would you ever consider having dairy-free cheese as an option? My partner would LOVE this pizza as well, but is allergic to dairy. That greasy competitor I mentioned above has dairy-free Daiya cheese as an option, and really, that's the only reason we go there.
Honestly, I have no idea why this place gets bad reviews. Feels like people are just sheep because of the show. The pizza is amazing! Crust is super delicious!! The owner became a chef in New York. Had the pleasure to talk to him. We'll be back.
This pizza smelled so good, I didn't even wait to get out of the door before I started eating it. I even burned my mouth. #WorthIt I walked in, and the owner immediately greeted me, and he was super nice. Told him it was my first time, asked what he suggested, etc. They advertise about having the best dough, and it really is something special. Make sure it's a to-go meal, there isn't any indoor seating. And order more than you think you'll need because you'll want it.
Gave this place a 2nd try after a mishap, I ordered online but Pete said that his ovens weren't warmed up and recommended I get a refund for my order. He offered to have me come back either later in the day or the next day for any complimentary pizza I wanted. Long story short, it wasn't a perfect visit, but Pete cares about his customers and made the unfortunate situation "right". The pizza was a bit underdone but still pretty tasty. He upgraded it to a complimentary large and my co worker came back for seconds and said it was a good pie.
